Moving Young Lives

with Care and Confidence

Physiotherapy Services

Motor Assessment & Treatment

  • I provide motor assessments for babies and young children where there may be concerns about their movement and physical development.

    This can include:

    • Babies who had a difficult start in life, such as time in a NICU or special care nursery

    • Children with suspected or diagnosed conditions that may impact motor skills

    • Babies or toddlers who are not meeting milestones (e.g., delayed sitting or walking)

    • Children with frequent falls, poor balance, or difficulties with coordination

    • Kids who find more complex movement skills (running, hopping, climbing, ball skills) especially challenging

I use standardised assessments such as the General Movement Assessment, Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE), and Alberta Infant Motor Scales, to give you clear, expert insight into your child’s motor skills. My treatment approach and therapy services are evidence-based, goal directed and task specific, which is underpinned by motor learning principles.

Together, we’ll create a supportive plan to help your child thrive in their movement, play, and daily activities.

        (plagiocephaly)

    • Torticollis

    • Foot conditions
(talipes, metatarsus adductus, curly toes, flat feet)

    • Lower limb postural differences
(knock knees, bow legs, in-toeing, toe walking)

    • Other postural or alignment concerns

For children over 5 years, I also provide assessment and therapy for:

    • Acute sporting injuries

    • Musculoskeletal concerns

    • Rehabilitation and recovery following orthopaedic surgery

NDIS Therapy Services

  • I support children on NDIS-funded programs through fun, family-focused therapy that fits into everyday life. Whether at home, childcare, kinder, school, or out in the community, I work alongside you to help your child achieve their goals in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.

I also provide equipment prescription, fitting, and ongoing support for children who may benefit from assistive technology—helping them gain confidence, independence, and the best possible outcomes.

For an extra element of fun and progress, I can offer aquatic therapy blocks at your local pool—combining movement, play, and therapy in a supportive water environment.

Home Services

  • I understand that every child feels most comfortable in their own familiar spaces. That’s why I offer home and community visits on Mondays for families in the Bayside area and nearby suburbs. Whether it’s in your living room, at the playground, or educational setting, I bring therapy to your child’s everyday environment. These sessions make it easier for your child to move, play and learn in a way that feels natural — and for you to feel confident supporting their progress at home.

Helping Little Ones Move to Learn

Every child deserves to feel confident in their movement and enjoy the simple joys of play. I’m Simone Maher, a paediatric physiotherapist with over 15 years’ experience supporting babies and children to reach their milestones.

With a caring, family-focused approach, I bring both hospital expertise and hands-on community experience to help your child thrive at home, in the clinic, and beyond.

More About Me

Move. Play. Learn.

My philosophy is simple — children thrive when they are encouraged to move, play, and learn in their own unique way. I believe movement is the foundation for all development, play is how children explore and build confidence, and learning happens naturally when they feel supported and understood. In my sessions, I create a nurturing, evidence-based environment that meets each child where they are. My goal is to help every child move freely, play with joy, and learn for life — while empowering families to feel confident and connected in supporting their child’s growth.

Move.

Play.

Learn.
